Dye Sublimation Printing
The reason that these fabric stands are so popular is because of the clarity and quality of the final print and this is due to the process of dye sublimation. Here, we’ll take a closer look at what dye sublimation actually is and the benefits of using it on any fabric display stand.
What Is Dye Sublimation Printing?
Dye sublimation is a printing process used commonly in the exhibition and promotional materials world. It is a chemical process involving high-intensity levels of heat which allows solids to transfer to gases without passing through the liquid stage that would normally occur. It is a two phase printing process where the artwork is firstly printed using a large format printer using water based sublimation printing ink and then the artwork is printed in reverse so the colours and graphics at first will appear with faded colouring and muted in colour depth. The next phase is where the heat and pressure is applied so that the printed graphics are vibrant and vivid.
For printing, this means heating ink directly into gas which allows it to permanently fix to the molecules of the printed object. In this case, a banner or fabric pop up stand.
