The National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham was opened in 1976 by Queen Elizabeth II. Originally only 89,000m2 of exhibition space, the NEC has since become the largest exhibition centre in England and has more than doubled in size. Featuring 20 interconnected halls, the Genting Arena, outdoor spaces and 34 conference suites, the NEC now covers more than 2 million square feet and has 4-6 million visitors to over 500 events each year.
The NEC is host to an assortment of massive events for every market from cars to crafts and antiques to gadgets. Some of their most popular annual events include the BBC Good Food Show, Comic Con, Clothes Show Live, the Gadget Show, Body Power Expo, Grand Designs Live, Education Show, Asian Bride Live, and the Autumn Fair.
